Details

Wire rope has done the job for decades, but it's heavy, hard on crews, and slow to inspect. Sterling Utility Winch Lines solve that with high-performance synthetic fiber built specifically for utility work.

Built across the Sterling Double Braid Polyester (DBP) and Sterling CoreX-12 constructions, this line gives lineworkers, bucket truck crews, and utility contractors a rope matched to the job instead of a one-size-fits-all wire rope. Steel thimble options add extra durability at high-wear attachment points, and spliced eyes provide a secure connection to capstan winches. Every winch line label features clearly labeled overhead working load limits (WLL), and an individual serial number tied into Sterling's Scannable inspection platform, so crews have a traceability and inspection system built in to support lifecycle management.

With a wide variety of lengths, material, terminations, diameters and constructions, Sterling offers in-stock availability for fast turnaround and also offers a built-to-order flexibility for custom lengths, strengths and configurations suited to your specific needs. The result: lighter-weight and easy-to-handle winch lines with clear WLL labeling for compliance, faster inspections, and a rope that holds up to daily use without the downtime that comes with worn-out steel core rope.

  • Wide performance range: DBP, TuffX-12 and CoreX-12 constructions cover light- to medium-duty winching needs across diameters, lengths and terminations ensure the right fit for each job.
  • High strength-to-weight ratio for easier, lower-fatigue handling than wire rope
  • Spliced eyes for quick, secure attachment to capstan winches
  • Steel thimble options for added durability at high wear points
  • Clearly labeled overhead working load limits (WLL) for safety and compliance
  • Individually serialized units with Scannable inspection platform support for simple digital inspections and lifecycle management
  • ASME B30.30 compliant for lifting and rigging applications
  • Custom lengths and configurations available
  • In-stock options for fast turnaround, built-to-order for specialized needs
